Trust also means understanding the evidence.

Tradition, personal experience and research provide different kinds of information. Studies of individual practices do not validate the whole program.

Public health recommendations

Nutrition

WHO recommends a varied diet including healthy plant foods. Vegan meals require nutritional planning; this does not demonstrate guaranteed cellular regeneration.

Promising evidence, with limitations

Breathing

A review of trials found improvements in perceived stress. Study size and quality limit conclusions; intensive techniques are not equivalent to gentle breathing.

Scientific Reports · 2023 ↗
Preliminary clinical research

Ayahuasca

A trial involving 29 patients with treatment-resistant depression found promising results. It does not show that a retreat cures illness. Risks and interactions require individual evaluation.
